Lake Hillier, The Pink Lake

Well it might sound ridiculous just why on earth could it be a pink lake where as water is turn out to be crystal blue. There are 8 Pink Lakes that existed on earth. But now I want to share one of the Pink Lake named Lake Hillier. The creation of God cannot be questioned as it is really exist in Australia. Lake Hillier is a pink-coloured lake on Middle Island, the largest of the islands that make up the Recherche Archipelago off the coast of Esperance.

The lake appears a solid bubble gum pink as it can see from the picture available. Well it looks delicious from distance. The colour is originally pink and permanent. When we look closer, the colour is more watery, translucent but remains mystery as unusual pink colour appears. Yet we could not deny its existence on our earth as scientist already found this place somewhere in West Australia.

Actually no one knows why the lake appears to be pink. Even scientist cannot provide the solid answers. Based on research the colour comes from a dye created by bacteria that lives in the salt crusts as speculated by scientist. However, this lake maintains its colour even bottled and this is really a mystery. The lake is approximately 600 metres long and surrounded by sand and woodland of paperbark and eucalyptus trees along the lake.

However, due to its extraordinary colour, the lake does not appear to be a danger to human who would like to visit it. Although it might not suitable to swim because of high salt levels, visitors still can immerse themselves in this lake. I really hope I can visit this place somehow later.
