The Reed Flute Cave Lake

The Reed Flute Cave Lake is a combination of lake and cave respectively located five kilometres northwest of the Guilin. The reed Flute Cave Lake is a natural formed cave carved out of Limestone Mountains over millions of years and has been a spectacular spot for over 1200.

It is most likely the ancient cave lake in China. The cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it which people make into fine melodious flutes out of them.

Inside the cave are large number of stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars and stone flowers. The lake is reflected by the glistening colourful lights of those stone formations. You might feel it is weird but it is a Chinese habit to give each formation legendary names such as Crystal Palace, Dragon Pagoda, Flower and Fruit Mountain, Virgin Forest and any other amazing names. It is pleasure to listen to some fantastic fairy tales behind these names by the travel guide.

From the picture, you can see the lake is colourful reflected due to the lighting surrounding the cave. It is the feast to your eyes and breathtaking for vacation with your family. The cave lake is something impressive for sight-seeing and photography. But you are not supposed to take photos in this cave unless you are the professional one. Because of the bad exposure of the insufficient light as you are in the cave. However you may enjoy the scenery that you would not forget and remain as the fresh memories in your life.
